If I could take stars away, they would have -5 stars for my experience! So where do I begin. Called them, and booked a reservation after I VERIFIED that I could take the car to a specific state and back, and verified that the price I was quoted was for the vehicle I wanted. I received my email stating the price and all. This is where I started getting the shaft..... it stated that the reservation was for a full size car instead of SUV, so I called back to find out that not only could I not get an SUV promised, but I also could NOT go out of connecting states to the state in which I was renting it. Also If they had been able to get the SuV, it would have been twice the price I was quoted! I told the manager everything I was told (VERBAL CONTRACT) since these companies record your call, they know I was 100% in the right, he says he will talk to the ascociate and call me back..... 3 hours later, just before they close, I called him back. He says that the ascociate stated that I had not informed them that I was going to the state that I was going to. I said that was completely a flat out lie. He says, "well our car can't be taken to that state so I guess you have to find another way"and hangs up. I tried calling their corporate and good luck with that. I got the reservation line and after that man tried getting me to contact the office that screwed me over in the 1st place to file a complaint, I told him it wouldn't do any good as the manager was already rude. He says " that's the process you have to go through " and then HE hangs up on me! Now I see where the rudeness is rampid there. By all means.. if you don't like being conned/tricked out of your money.......DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH PAYLESS! I GUARANTEE I will never again, and everyone I talk to will know EXACTLY WHY!!!!!!
STAY AWAY. PAY COUPLE FIRE DOLLAR'S FOR COMPANY THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR MANAGE THEIR STAFF AND MISTAKEN PROPERLY. Worst experience I've ever had with car rental. Manager Mike clearly tried to help but then got charged hundreds over quoted price. Employees very unfriendly and not educated on the job. Contacted corporate as this was one bad experience after another. I am still waiting for responses from manager. Biggest travel mistake
Matt N references Boston. These reviews are about the Pittsburgh Airport location so it's not accurate! Be warned, I had a terrible experience. I had a reservation for a compact car and after no one was at the desk inside and I was forced to stand in the freezing garage for 10 min. waiting in line, they told me only a pick-up truck was left. I'd have to wait for someone to "go get and clean another car". I asked how long? She wouldn't answer. I said how far away is it? "About 5 min." BUT how long will it take to clean? She wouldn't say. I decided to walk back inside and got the same price from Enterprise where they're professional and courteous. Don't waste your time saving $5-10 on these jokers.
Just rented a car at the Boston airport for the weekend. They were half the price of anyone else. I read some bad reviews online, but every rental car company gets those for some reason. (I guess people will write reviews online when they are mad more than when they have a good experience) I had no problems at all. Not one. Walked to the rental counter for Payless, only one person in front of me, the rep did the paperwork in less than 5 minutes, and we were on our way. Same thing with dropping it off. No B.S. at all, pulled up, they checked it out, and we were done in a few minutes. Not a single bad thing to say, it was all positive.
