Med Vet was great to us today. My wife and I had to take our 15 year old cat Shadow to be put to sleep today, as he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was clearly going down hill. The staff at Med Vet were extremely professional and empathetic and helped us through a very difficult experience. We miss Shadow greatly but I will always appreciate how the vet and staff at Med Vet treated us.
Just tried to pick up a prescription at 7:20pm, but couldn't because they decided to all leave early. My my pet doesn't get his meds to night. But the guy that answered the intercom said don't worry, we will be open 8 to 8 tomorrow!! Doesn't help me now!! But normally i would give them a 5 stars. Very caring with my animals
We took our puppy to Metvet for a minor stomach illness. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. They gave an estimate in advance of the services; and their prices are in line with other emergency vets in the area. We would come back again.
I was faced with the tough decision of having to put my dog down. The ladies were absolutely amazing. They had me call when I arrived and came out and got my dog out of my car (she could not stand or walk) and took me in through the side door so I wouldn't have to go through the lobby. Everything was done in the room I was in. The vet looked at her first and assured me I was making the right decision. For $8 they gave me a stone with her paw print and name on it, and also gave me a doggy angel pin. A couple days later I received a card in the mail expressing their sympathy, and a couple days after that I received a call checking to see how I was doing. I cannot say enough about this place. I've never had to put a pet down before and they made the process as easy as it could've been. Thank you!
First off, I never write reviews. Nevertheless, I feel strongly about sharing this experience. I have a dog that was recently diagnosed with diabetes and we came home one night and he was what appeared to be in a hypoglycemic state. We were not told nor instructed on how to monitor his glucose readings from our vet so we felt we should get him in to be checked out. He was very lethargic and shivering. Met vet was conveniently open on a Sunday, which our vet was not. That is why I give them at least 1 star... I told the Dr. that we have an 18 mo child and my wife is a stay at home mother, so I would need to see estimates on all of the steps they felt were necessary for treatment. To shorten the story, I was told he would need 72 hour IC treatment. If this was not followed, he would need to be put down. The price tag was $3200, $1600 down payment to even start. I started crying, called my wife and we decided to bring him home for one last night at home. I called off of work and got an appointment at our vet to have him euthanized. My wife and I were devastated, walking him around the yard for the last time, cuddling with him for the last time, etc. Our vet took one look at him and said, "well, it's up to you but the fact he's standing on his own makes me think it's at least worth trying to hydrate him intravenously. Which you could do for a few hundred bucks." With a lot of patience, educating, monitoring and phone calls; he was back to his normal self within less than 2 weeks. It just gave me the impression that they were geared towards making money rather than the health of our pet.
