1. My mom’s room has no hot water. I let the “hot” water run for a solid hour, and it wasn’t even lukewarm.

I had excellent care while at LifeCare Hospital in Wilkinsburg. The people are very caring & wonderful. The Doctors are excellent, as are the OT & the PT's, & nurses. Food was very good and the dietition was knowledgeable in vitamins & nutrition. Nice perts were free telephone, TV, & parking. I would recommend it to anyone in need of wound care.

8. And I’ll give credit where it’s due. Mallory, John, and the subcontractor who handles dialysis have been excellent. On the whole, the place just seems brutally understaffed to do a good job. I recognize nursing is a difficult profession, and my hat’s off to those who do it well.

6. PT? Barely. Never on weekends, and they don’t spend enough time on weekdays.

2. The thermostat has been broken for over a.week. It’s been reported, but never fixed.

7. I read another review where someone praised the front desk guards. I completely agree. Everyone at the main desk has been tremendous. I’ve been in and out of there countless times and never had a negative experience.

This hospital saved my mother's leg and her life. The treatment she recieve was amazing. My mom came in anxious, but because of the professional, knowledgeable, and caring staff she left feeling like she matter once again as a human being. She has been treated so bad by so many facilities. Thank God for their teamwork.

I wish I could give the TERRIBLE hospital 0 stars. I went with my family last night to visit another family member that has been there for 1 week so far. The guard downstairs was VERY nice! (only polite part about the whole trip really). From the time you get upstairs everything goes downhill. You must first go to the nurses station and sign in. So we walk in and head directly to the nurses station, we wait a little while the nurses are talking and then one nurse gives us the book to sign in. From the time we walked in, waited at the nurses station, and signed in - I heard my family member yelling from his room, "Can I get some ice cold water please" over and over and over. With not one person responding to him. Oh yes, my family member has no legs by the way - so it is not like he is able to just get up and get it himself. The visitor that was behind us in line politely knocked on the door of the nurses station and told the nurses that a patient was yelling for something. The nurse said ok and shut the door and walked away and stood in the nurses station DOING NOTHING AT ALL but talking under her breath clearly annoyed that she was being bothered. Finally after signing in we asked if we could have a cup of cold water to bring to him which the nurse did provide to us. We get in the room and after talking for a little my family member asked for some ointment for a sore on his bottom. I went out to the nurses station and asked about the ointment. I couldn't possibly be bothering these people anymore. The nurse says, "you are going to have to wait because we all have to do a report". I replied with, "No problem take your time." I stood there and waiting for 20 minutes while all the nurses sat inside the nurses station not even speaking to each other. I went around the corner to find 2 more nurses just sitting down on their phones in the middle of the hall. No one is nice here and certainly these nurse do not care about their patients. It was not our choice to have my family member sent here - but he will never be back!!!! People go here because they have issues and they need help - these nurses are truly only hurting the patients. It may not be physically but abuse occurs in several ways. WORST PLACE EVER.

4. The response time to the patient’s call button is unacceptable. My mom requires a bedpan. One night she says she waited over a half an hour for a nurse to arrive after pressing the call button, and finally got to the point where she wet the bed. If that’s not unacceptable, I don’t know what is.

Some of the nurses are amazing. But after discharge they are sharks to get payment. I send in several months worth of payments at a time with my next payment coupon due April 2018. I called for more coupons and they give me a hard time because I didn't make a payment in August...what?!?!?! I paid that back in May when I tripled up on my payments. I wonder why you are giving the person who is paying EXTRA a hard time.

3. I’m there quite a bit to keep my eye on things. I’m pretty convinced that the staff fails to meet the established requirement for frequency of rounds. What I’ve read says hourly during the day, and I guarantee I don’t see a nurse or even an aid on an hourly basis.

5. I’ve had a lot of trouble getting information. It’s not as if the the nurses are uncooperative, it’s that they seem to have trouble getting info from the doctors, and I rarely see the doctors myself.
