About 4 years ago I bought a sofa and 2 chairs at value city West Mifflin. The chairs are so so, they have drooped and the seats are less comfortable than they were before,But I has made my peace with that. The real problem is the sofa. It looked great and was very comfortable for a few months. Then the seat cushions deflated and the sofa became less comfortable. Just over a 2 years in a Spring in the center broke. Now I'm not skinny, in fact I am fat but I'm not morbidly obese at 210 pounds. This is America, where everybody's fat. The sofa should not have broke under that kind of weight, but it did. Uniters insurance covers these items for up to 5 years, but they are an absolute nightmare to go through. It took nearly a month to get these Spring in my sofa fixed and when they did fix it they did not do it correctly. Several months later it broke again. It once again took over a month to get it patched back together And they didn't even have the materials necessary to fix the tears the Springs had caused. About a month ago I received an email saying it was authorized for replacement. Value city was supposed to call me about it but never did. So, after another horrible day on the phone with numerous people, I finally found out how much credit I had at their store. They actually credited to me for less than the amount I paid for the sofa and have the audacity to charge yet a nother delivery charge even though this is not technically a new order. I'm currently in the process of trying to get them to authorize free delivery before I settle on attempting to get a new sofa. I am so sick of all of this though, I think I'll tell them to just keep their damn credit and take my business elsewhere. After all they can't even make a couch that will last 5 years and their furniture is incredibly overpriced.
Overall, the furniture company we originally avoided, for what reason I honestly don't know, ended up being one of the best decisions, experiences, and purchases we have made. Thank you Value City for truly creating such a relationship with us that we will never forget and we will certainly be bringing our business back very soon.
Terrible customer service. Like y'all people are there to help us.. They seemed annoyed as hell!
My husband and I recently purchased the Cheyanne sectional 6 piece set in ivory from value city and we are very pleased with the furniture now that it has been brought in and set up. The salesman, Eric, that we had the pleasure of working with was amazing. He was not over the top and pushy like you would expect, he was friendly and available to us when we needed help! We first went to Levin, where we were avoided by every sales person possible until we decided to spend our money elsewhere. Seconds upon entering Value City we were greeted and taken in the direction of what furniture we were looking for. Once we made our decision to purchase the checkout process was equally as wonderful. We opted for the insurance on the furniture and were advised that within the 5 year plan we recieved if we did not have a claim to make that the entire amount we spend on the insurance (which was roughly $200) would be given back to us at the end of the 5 years I store credit. We were set up for delivery within a week. The delivery men that arrived not only called us on 3 separate occasions to confirm, remind, and give us a delivery time, but when they arrived they were so personable and friendly ( to the extent that we wanted to offer them to stay and kick back a while with us) delivery was done on under 15 minutes upon arrival and they not only carried it in but set it up and took the wrappings along with them. I mean, the last time we had furniture delivered, levin wouldn't bring it any further than our front porch.
My husband and I just left the VCF location in West Mifflin, PA. We were there to purchase a sofa and a desk. The purchase was going to be over $1400.00. Our "Salesperson" was Amanda. She was very, very rude and nasty. The "Manager On Duty" was not much better. We left without purchasing anything and are on our way to another establishment to make our purchases. Just as an example, when I said to my husband, "lets just go somewhere else." Amanda, the salesperson, said "GOOD!" What kind of service is this? We are both extremely upset.
If I could give less than 1 star I would. We ordered a bedroom suit from value city. The delivery came outside of the window they gave us for delivery. So we were not at the house. They called telling us they were there, and I had to leave work and go meet them. When they went to set everything up, they were missing parts. I had to take off work another day for them to deliver the rest of the parts. When we went to put together the dresser with the mirror, we realize that they had forgotten the support rails. We called the store and had to go and pick them up. They gave us the wrong support rails. After two more trips, we finally got the correct ones. After owning the bed for two weeks, one of us sat on the edge to put on shoes, and the bed cracked in half. We finally convinced them to take the furniture back, for a full refund, since their furniture is obviously very bad quality. When they came to pick up the furniture, they were supposed to get there between 1030 and 1230, I got a phone call at 8 AM that they we're at the house to pick up the furniture. Awful customer service terrible quality of furniture.
