Well worth visiting if you're in the area. The museum does a great job of keeping the Requin preserved, and making the visit a learning experience.
Vintage piece of beloved and well-preserved US naval history. This is a great place to bring kids. Their natural curiosity will have them asking all kinds of questions. Pro tip, Requin means “shark” in French. Some of the tour guides might quiz you. It can get crowded on the sub which does lessen the joy of the experience. It’s best to visit when crowds are small at the Science Center. They might consider creating an entry system to limit the number of visitors on the sub at any one time. This would allow visitors to see the sub at a less hectic and rushed paced.
Really interesting at first, but that wears off in about 10 minutes, then you just look for the exit. Difficult to navigate with crowds as they make movement around the submarine very uncomfortable and cramped.
