I just arrived home a few minutes ago and started the acclimation process to what appears to be a very healthy Cortez Stingray!
There were multiple species of turtle and tortoises in the same cage. Also I observed tank full of aquatic turtles housed with baby American alligators that were all climbing on top of each other because there was very little room.
Staff was very knowledgeable & personable. Very nice cichlid stock! Excellent place for all your needs in this hobby!!!
Great selection of aquatic animals and equipment for the aquarium enthusiast. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. You can't go wrong here.
An emaciated green iguana was mislabeled as a timor monitor and had almost no room to move, even if it could.
The disease transmission rate between animals has to be extremely high due to these dirty close quarters living conditions. As someone who is a veterinary professional and reptile keeper of 10 years, I would recommend never purchasing an animal from this business, but to seek out a local breeder who cares for there animals.
This is a fantastic place that really cares about the animals and the people they're providing to. They won't try to sell you what you don't need. They won't try to hide things from you about the animals or products, and they really know their stuff.
I just visited this store this afternoon, and I was very excited to find a pet store that offered reptiles and amphibians for sale. Unfortunately, this is the worst pet store I have ever seen. The reptiles are kept in deplorable conditions. The cages are very small, with feces and shed left in the cages and the water bowls of many were a murky green colored, likely contaminated with feces.
This was my first visit to Aqua World, but they sure treated me as I was one of their best regular customers! For us it was a 2 hour drive to get there, but it was the only place I could find that had what I was looking for. They triple bagged my purchase and added tanked oxygen, I'm not sure if this procedure is done for every purchase, or for my 2 hour drive home. Either way it was greatly appreciated!
If these were dogs and cats living in these conditions the shop owner would be fined for animal cruelty.
Again this is my 1st purchase from Aqua World and far from my last! So I really can't say that you will feel that you got the special treatment that I felt I received, I sure hope you do, and I know I will return! We'll worth the 4 hours of driving time. Thanks Again !!!
