I am a surgeon, and I totally trust the folks at Thick bikes when they put they're hands on my bike.
Not TWO days after I brought the bike back, I took it out for a short ride on a quiet, pothole-free part of Howe Street. I barely made it to a stop sign and bam - I got a flat tire.
I had a warped tire rim and went to Thick Bikes to fix it. They changed the rim, suggested that I also get a new tire and I trusted their opinion so agreed to it. The final bill came to $125, which I had not expected, but I figured its quality I am paying for.
Without a doubt one of the finest shops in the area. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of bikes and accessories
**UPDATED**
Staff is super friendly and helpful to newbies! Getting into cycling can be intimidating and sometimes more seasoned riders can at times be a little rude. That is definitely NOT the case here, where the staff is super friendly and understanding. My fiancee and I went in with the goal of finding her first/new bike and we left super thrilled with the experience. We left with exactly the type of bike she needed for the type of riding she plans to do and it was within the budget we laid out when we walked in. We'll definitely be back to Thick Bikes. Also they have free parking/their website is hilarious.
I just bought a new road bike at Thick. This is the most friendly bike shop that I have ever been in! I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one after the excellent customer service I experienced. If you are looking for a new bike I highly recommend Thick bikes. Also - I highly recommend Adam's fit service (also he will help you pick out a fantastic bike for you and I trust him). If your bike causes you any discomfort he is an expert fitter! He measures basically everything that is adjustable on your bike and sets you up with all the correct equipment ranging from pedals, stems, handle bars, etc.
I request Thick Bikes to fix this flat for me without charge. I will be happy to change my review after that. There are several bike shops near my house but I chose Thick because a friend highly recommended it to me.
Now I realize that a flat could have occurred due to several reasons, but the tire being brand new, I am disappointed that this happened. There were no sharp objects, glass shards, etc. on the road and the tire pressure when I left home was just about 5 psi below the limit.
**ORIGINAL**
They fixed the flat promptly without charge. I really appreciate that.
