Prior to the appointment, I was advised by the staff that my health insurance carrier would cover the cost of the office visit. A month later, they said it wasn't and wanted me to pay the full price. I would have delayed my appointment had I known.
I have worn contacts my entire life. When I got a trial pair from Vincett, my corneas ripped. i called and begged them to help. they made me an apppointment for 7pm that night (it was 1pm when it happened). I Couldnt see. I Couldnt drive. helpless. My sister took me 2 hours early and begged for me to be seen or what our other options were for immediate help. The woman at the desk goes "Sorry. Your appointment is at 7, not 5" as im blindly screaming and begging. After a hospitalization (thanks for saving me UPMC!) I return to Vincett a few days later for them to say "things are looking up!" my eyes are STILL blurry. no sympathy. no apologies. 0 out of 10 would not recommend. Awful customer service. It was like a joke that I couldnt see. awful awful awful.
UPDATE: took weeks for them to send me my glasses prescription. Then would not send my contacts prescription. It took me to order them off of a website (since they contact your doctor) for them to call me ask "Why did you do that?" No compassion !!! if you are looking to be treated like a decent human this isnt the place to be.
This was frustrating, considering I chose to go here over another eye doctor that was closer because the other place was upfront and told me about their fitting fee over the phone. I chose to purchase my lenses from Vincett, because I figured this would be cheaper than paying the fitting fee. However, they charged me $90 per box and 1800-contacts had the same lenses for $50 per box.
Their contact lens are grossly overpriced. When I received my last order, it contained the wrong prescription. They didn't even realize this error. I wore the wrong lens for three days before I figured out their screw up. This place is an ongoing disappointment.
save yourself the same money and effort..
I WISH I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS.
They are not transparent about the prices of contact lenses at all. When I scheduled my appointment, I specifically asked if they charged a contact lens fitting fee. They told me they did not. However, after my appointment, they told me that I either had to purchase my contact lenses directly from them or pay for a fitting fee to get a copy of my prescription.
I've had a really bad experience here. The place is modern and nice with all of these up-to-date machines but the staff is rude and the cost is 20% higher than other places (cause you have to pay for all of that expensive machinery). They upcharge on the contact lens like crazy. Then I had an issue with my contact lenses and the doctor wanted to charge me extra to see her again! Which I didn't do. Then I wanted to change from two week contacts to dailies and they wouldn't approve the change until I went back in for another eye exam. This place is only out for one thing--YOUR MONEY! Don't fall for the glossy atmosphere. It's a money suck.
I found the eye doctor to be very professional and he took the time to ensure that my prescription was correct. But I will never return due to their lack of transparency with billing.
terrible experience. They overcharge and was not clear about the fee at front. WIll not return and not recommend.
