I found Pittsburgh Eye Associates because I have UPMC for Life coverage. I have been extremely impressed with everyone there and their concern for my eye health.
Went for a routine eye exam for new contacts. Staff was very friendly and I barely had to wait at all to see the optometrist. He was very welcoming, friendly, efficient and answered all the questions I had. Everything was quick and easy, and I got a test pair of contact lenses during my visit that felt great. They even had an August special where you could save money for a year supply on contacts, so with my insurance I paid much less than I thought. Nice little office too, right on Penn Ave opposite the Children's Hospital. I highly recommend them to anyone.

If you have a Medicare Advantage plan (eg. "UPMC for Life")...PEA is one of the few groups (that I was able to find in the Pittsburgh area) that accepts their eyeglass frames/lens prescriptions coverage.
Dr. Barad and her office staff are wonderful. I was referred to see her for an eye problem and they fit me into the schedule quickly and are always pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend Pittsburgh Eye Associates.
