We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of birds here. It's not a large space, so we were not exhausted after spending the day. You can't get any closer to the birds than here. The staff did terrific presentations, you can watch feedings, and even participate. Well worth attending!

Keep it in mind for your next visit! 5 stars!

This charming museum and aviary has birds galore even live penguin. We have gone there with our granddaughter VERONICA whenever we visit her in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania. It is such a kid friendly place that she had her birthday party there. It was held in a heated tentlike area with tables and chairs. We provided our own food and refreshments which are also available in the large museum snack bar. A speaker came with some friendly parrots to talk to our group about birds and the aviary. The kids could individually meet the birds(parrots and a penguin) who were tame. After the celebration,we all toured the museum and aviary. There were guides at the exhibits. Everything was very visible and accessible. I used a museum provided wheelchair. The bathrooms and doors were easy to use. The bookstore was a bit tight but usable. You can pay cash, checks or credit cards for the admission The parking is free. The Aviary is in downtown Pittsburgh,Pa. It is near the streets and highways.

My granddaughter had her 3 yr birthday party here It is handicap and kid friendly. Good staff, clean, has a good quick food area. Nice but crowded gift shop. The Aviary has nice living exhibits of birds- especially penguin. Knowledge guides. Memberships available. Good parking. A great place to spend a few hrs.

Kids love this place. If your in Pittsburgh and don't have a ton of time to do stuff you can go through everything in about 45min here. Been here multiple times. Christmas time there is great kids see can get pictures with Santa and a penguin.

My kids loved this place!! We watched the "bird brains" show and it was very entertaining and informative. The owls flew right over me and my son's heads and they were ecstatic!! My eldest son didn't care for the idea of going; however, shortly realize he was wrong. We were able to feed the Lorikeets. To see the smiles on my sons faces when there were several birds hopping around their arms and feeding out of their hands was priceless!! It is well priced and great to do with any aged kid. The staff are very friendly and informative. They have a lot of knowledge when asking about any of the birds seen. I will definitively be back!
