Great place to take the whole family, not just adults.
For the adults, there are so many interesting, unique sections where you can learn a ton or just appreciate the beauty of the plants themselves and the way that the amazing people at Phipps have arranged them.
Phipps is the most wonderful place in the world. It is Pittsburgh's Crown Jewel. The seasonal shows never cease to amaze and inspire. It is a must-see attraction. People of all ages will be captivated with its sheer Beauty. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The cafe itself is worth a trip for. I cannot recommend any place more highly
For the kids, there's a really cool section behind the main area when you first enter. It usually has trains and some interactive buttons/aspects. Also, the pretend shopping area is always a hit. And there are really cool outdoor spaces for kids too.
We went tonight for the holiday buffet dinner and to visit the displays. First the displays were magnificent and so fun. The kids loved them as much as the adults. The buffet diner was spectacular. The food was very good, assortment perfect and service was awesome. Something I attend again. Jerome the manager did a great job!
Always a splendid experience between the pleasant and professional staff, vast displays of plants, articulated interior design to fit each season, cleanliness, wide variety of foods and drinks (including alcohol) to choose from, and a huge gift shop to appease anyone.
Purchasing tickets ahead seems to be most convenient, especially on the weekends where you can have your phone scanned once your scheduled time has arrived to enter the greenhouse. City parking so expect limited spots, walking, and paying meters along the road. Valet is available. Drop off to the main entrance is an option for those who need it. Limited handicapped spaces available too.
Phipps is a BEAUTIFUL place to see a wide array of plants, flowers, and trees etc.. The holiday light and garden show during the Christmas season is just magical! A great place to bring a date.. The family.. Or anyone of all ages. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is right near by so you can make an afternoon of great sights!
